Andaz Amsterdam Spa | City Relaxation + Afternoon Tea

Hey Guys,

Welcome to my first Travel post of 2017!
I am so excited to bring you this post in collaboration with the wonderful Andaz Amsterdam Hotel.

If you didn't know, on the 2nd January, I turned 25 (eek!). A significant milestone (if I do say so). And a significant milestone deserves a significant celebration!
I spent my actual birthday around London doing lot's of activities from the V&A museum, to afternoon tea in Kensington and finally, trampolining!

Ohh, but I didn't stop there!
I planned a long weekend away with my best friend to AMSTERDAM!

I was kindly invited to enjoy a beautiful day of pamper, relaxation and sweet treats at the 5* Andaz Amsterdam

Here is a round up of our experience...

Andaz Amsterdam Spa

The Andaz Spa is located within the hotel. It is wonderfully tranquil.. It is only a small spa with just a few guests at a time which creates a unique, quiet and peaceful experience.

We were able to choose a 60 minute treatment from a list of massages and facials, Naomi opted for a rejuvenating facial. I went for the Moroccan Oil Relaxing Massage. I think I chose this one because of the word "relaxing"- it sounded ideal.
And I was right...

...The massage was carried out in one of the lovely treatment rooms. The masseuse used oils to massage my neck, shoulders, back and legs. The oils were removed with warm, wet towels which felt amazing
The entire experience was just perfect and exactly what you'd expect of a full body massage- relaxing music included

Post-treatment, I retired to a relaxation booth where I was brought a glass of the best green tea I have ever had (it was a blend of green tea and earl grey) and a delicious, healthy bite with dried fruit, dark chocolate and oats.

You can see the large sauna and showers in the background here. The sauna was completely empty most of the time we were there so I enjoyed a great moment to myself, dreaming of the Caribbean... It was lovely!
As were the cool rain showers. We were provided with little sample products which I gave a go in the shower. I think I had about 3 showers in total! I was jumping from the hot sauna into a cool shower as I heard it's good for the body's circulation...oo errr

Afternoon Tea at Bluespoon Restaurant

As if the Spa experience wasn't enough, we rounded off the day with an awesome afternoon tea experience in the hotel restaurant "Bluespoon".

We picked a table with a view in the midst of the lounge. Our canal-view was a great place to people watch as the sun went down.

Our tea and cake service arrived! Here are some hunger-inducing, close-up images of the sweet treats in all their glory!
Here we have a pecan tart slice, a chocolate truffle, a hard meringue and a brownie bite (my fav!)

This plate contained a lemon and poppy seed cake (Naomi's fav), a chocolate, raspberry and fresh cream cake and an apple cake.

I died and went to heaven with this salmon finger sandwich. The ham and cheese and cucumber were great too!

Enjoying the view!

By night, the Bluespoon is a swanky bar serving lots of yummy bespoke cocktails, beers and wines.

I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend my special day in Amsterdam, It was the perfect, girly day where I felt completely spoiled and treated.
If you are heading to Amsterdam for special occasion I would highly recommend the Andaz Spa and Bluespoon as a way to celebrate. Or even if you have no reason at all other than treating yourself or a loved one!
I'd love to know if you are heading there so please send me pics on Twitter!

Finally, I would like to say a huge thank you to Maiko at Andaz Amsterdam and all the wonderful staff who made our day so magical!

Eb x
