Last weekend was a lovely one. I planned an evening in Shoreditch with my wonderful partner. We had a date night, followed by a complimentary stay with Point a. Hotel, Liverpool Street. Keep reading for ideas for your planning your own date night and for a closer look inside Point a..
Point a. Hotels is a group of economy hotels, based around London and Scotland. The business was founded by a family who grew from their humble beginnings as B&B owners. Not only was the hotel extremely new and very stylish, but the staff were super friendly - a core value of the company.
Our room, 329, was located on the third floor, with a lovely view over East London (you can see the spire of Christ Church, Spitalfields in the distance). The room itself was pretty spacious and included a modestly sized ensuite bathroom with a shower. I was most impressed by the huge windows, allowing lots of natural light, the large, wall-mounted TV and the circle mirror! I also loved the techy elements of the room - with colourful mood lighting controlled by a touchscreen pad and the ability to remotely apply a "do not disturb" message to the touch pad outside the front door.
So with our bags and belongings placed in a corner of our home for the night and a mandatory selfie taken in the large, round mirror, it was time to head out for our ultimate date night...

First stop was Dirty Bones, just a few yards away from Shoreditch High Street station. Sean was drawn to this menu from the ones I suggested and it was a great choice! We both went for the chicken and waffles - which were incredible. The waffles were light and fluffy and the cornflake-coated chicken was crispy and flavoursome. We also shared the best Oreo milkshake and a side of fries! Needless to say, we were stuffed!
We then head to Rich Mix, a multi media entertainment venue that are home to a couple of cinema screens. We watched the new Avengers Endgame film, which was amazing! (No spoilers here, don't worry!)![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBKgWz2AOc1CUWNNpIHODEJIKuBglCyGTrjrqg_mCUF1-smmIDaD2F1-NWBJs9vYg5VddHXtbErmNPqldELqpm2-BGmevMx4Invdpe91V2EV45yz_WJOySPC8jsi3ITrsOWg9OUHOrPFAM/s1600/IMG_0407+2.jpg)
After a lovely night's sleep in our spacious, Hypnos, double bed, we woke up dreaming of croissants and coffee! The hotel offers a buffet-style continental breakfast with treats including pastries, yoghurt, cereal, muffins and fruit pots. I love this style of breakfast! We took it up to the room for a traditional breakfast in bed.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1NzYCHwfhpruM7NKAy1x1Loz13TGgQq1pPhhJti5XwEiML1kHsOPQAeendlvMgnI0mHB0OSYd0my88V76aIceDpayCacRTeQTiViA65iKJFWo4O6b6LjyKbyyJVTahxhyphenhyphentBBFpHv-3h6q/s1600/19.jpg)
