L'Hotel, Paris: Inside Room "Reine Hortense"

L'Hotel, Paris: Inside Room "Reine Hortense"

L'Hotel, Paris

With the epitome of French Baroque style oozing throughout every room, this 5-star boutique hotel has everything you could wish for from a Parisian hotel; From style and character, to luxury and grandeur. Located in the historical district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and just a stone's throw away from the Louvre, L'Hotel was the world's first boutique hotel and last home of Oscar Wilde.

We stayed in a “Chic” room decorated in honor of it's namesake “Reine Hortense".  All Chic rooms are as spacious as they are individual with a sitting area and large bathrooms with separate baths and walk-in showers. Our room also featured a gorgeous balcony space complete with idyllic Parisian views and a retractable awning for shade from the sun or rain!

If you're staying in this beautiful suite, do make the most of the emerald marble-clad bathtub which is very enjoyable at night with the bathroom's juliet balcony doors swung wide open, a breeze flowing freely and a candle or two to set the mood. I even managed to catch a heavy rain storm, which just about sent me to sleep! Full size Green & Spring bath products are available in all the rooms for you to use, which is a lovely touch.
In the morning, a complimentary Continental breakfast is served either in the hotel restaurant/bar downstairs or to your room. We wanted to make the most of the balcony space, so had ours sent up to enjoy in the warmth of the 9am sun. To tide you over until your breakfast arrives, there is a complimentary Nespresso machine tucked away out of sight, along with a selection of teas and a mini-bar with fridge.

The entire morning was a luxurious dream, with the most lavish breakfast you could wish for, followed by a complimentary hour's use of the hotel's Hammam pool and steam room (which we booked upon arrival). We had the entire spa floor to ourselves during our booked slot. It was a private and relaxing experience which rounded off our stay wonderfully.

I cannot recommend a stay at L'Hotel more. If you are looking for a relaxing, luxurious hotel with welcoming, attentive staff and facilities that go the extra mile, look no further!
