What did I learn in 2016?

What did I learn in 2016?

Hey Guys,

Well, the end of the year 2016 is upon us...
*Cue sentimental music and a cliche blog post*
I mean, isn't it better I rant on here than be one of those people who do it all in a Facebook Status Essay? Yeah, I think so too :) teehee.

Okay, well, I must say that 2016 has been somewhat successful and unsuccessful in a couple of ways.
I started a blog, I grew a lot socially and learned a lot too- about myself and others and I honestly feel that 2016 has been a year of "growing-up"
Whilst blogging really took off for me and I have had an amazing time learning about this crazy world and all the opportunities I have gained, I couldn't help but feel a little sad (and guilty) for my acting career taking a little back seat. I started the year in huge London show, then three short films and a Pringles commersial- which was amazing! But I didn't really see much until September when I landed a role in a small production in London for a few weeks.

I learned that life is all about balance. Ying and Yang. Ebony and Ivory ;)

And whilst I was seeing my blog really take off, I was also seeing my acting and music career take a nose dive. I tried to stay creative and I wrote a couple of spoken word pieces which I am proud of and continued to audition and rehearse with my guitarist. I don't know if I found a great balance but I will try hard to make 2017 the year I find my passion and success with acting whilst maintaining a successful blog! Wish me luck!

Here are some other things 2016 taught me, big, small and hilarious!...

Stop worrying about getting old - you can't stop the clock so enjoy the now!
You never know unless you try
Meeting new people can actually be alright
Dating is weird/hard/useless/fun/annoying - (Although, maybe its a good thing I never managed to find myself a good man-friend- I can't imagine trying to balance a relationship on top my blog and career!)
Learn to put yourself first
I love herbal tea
I make a bomb hot chocolate (I am literally known at work for making the best hot chocolate)

How candles are supposed to burn (flat and even... fyi)
Blogging is hard work...
...But extremely rewarding
Marble and Copper (if you know, then you know)
I miss travelling- (I've already booked 4 flights for 2017!)
I care about people
I think I may actually prefer Summer
Meditation is amazing (HeadSpace and YouTube)

I love my job
I hate my job
Learning to handle rejection (in my love life, career and blogging!)

And there you have it! A little insight into my 2016. I am looking forward to what 2017 will bring, and even more so, sharing it with you (and future me!).
