'Instagrammable' Things to See and Do in Covent Garden

Hey Guys,

Last weekend I decided to make the most of the final summery days in London and head to one of my favourite places - Covent Garden! My love for this beautiful area began aged 12 when I used to take dance and drama classes every Sunday at Pineapple Studios on Langley Street. Then at age 18 I got my first ever job at the flagship Build a Bear store which used to sit nestled next to the Disney Store in the main square (both have since shut down- boo!) So I am no stranger to this corner of London, but it is an area that pulls me back again and again.

Covent Garden is a place to suit every season. Come Spring and Summer, the entire piazza is covered in floral arrangements, street performers pop up on every corner and the sun's rays cuts through the square, creating beautiful golden hours. Autumn/Winter brings the most magical christmas displays with shoppers and tourists flocking to enjoy the annual giant christmas tree, the rows and rows of fairy lights and gorgeous window displays. If you are visiting London, I would highly recommend you add Covent Garden to your itinerary. I would leave between half a day to a whole day to explore. This blog post will take you on a mini Instagram-tour of the cutest spots Covent Garden has to offer. The spending money for my trip was kindly gifted by Hotels.com, but all views are my own.

"Instagrammable" Things to See and Do in Covent Garden

1.  Chanel
Unit 6a, London WC2E 8RA

Of course, you couldn't come all the way to Covent Garden and not look in some shops - that's just rude! So of course, I made a lil stop in the ever-so-glamourous Chanel beauty store. I always pop in here to smell the perfumes and check out any new releases, but every once in a while you're allowed to treat yaself, so I picked up a brand new lippy!

The lovely Amanda helped me decide on a colour and even applied it for me. After my cheeky purchase, I took a quick snap outside to show off my lil bag. Even if you don't buy anything, the Chanel shop front makes for an amazing insta-backdrop!

2. Ladurée
1 The Market, London WC2E 8RA

Continue as we mean to go on is my motto, so the boujee theme directed us towards the Ladurée store! Sitting sweet and pretty just a few stores down from Chanel, Laduree is the world-famous home to the best macarons money can buy!
I splashed out on the cutest little box of six macarons, ranging in flavours from chocolate hazlenut to pistachio and rose! Oo err!

3. Sweetheart Cupcakes

Unit 34, The Piazza, Covent Garden Market, (Lower Ground Floor), London WC2E 8RE

After doing a lot of walking around in the crisp, autumnal sun, we needed a little warming up so head to the cutest little cafe within the piazza.
Sweetheart London has a wonderful selection of yummy cupcakes, pastries and hot chocolates! Look how beautiful the cupcakes are presented! Perfect for the 'gram.

4. The Telephone Boxes
Broad Ct, London WC2B 5QH

This little road in Covent Garden is highly underrated if you ask me! I would bet money on this being the most telephone boxes in a row, on a pedestrian-only street in London! It is so chill taking pictures here. There are never any vehicles and I've surprisingly never seen more than a couple of tourists around.
I would recommend steering clear of entering the foul, pee- smelling boxes. And be careful not to accidentally get one of the "r-rated" postcards that line the inside of the boxes in the background of your shots! Other than that, you are good to go! Wear something complimentary to red and grab one of the most "London" pictures ever!

5. Milk Train Ice Cream
44 Bedford St, London WC2E 9HA

I don't think its a surprise that Milk Train made it to this list, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why! Ice cream cones with rainbow sprinkles and a frikken CANDY FLOSS CLOUD! This is possibly the tastiest instagram post ever!
These delightful sweet treats are, admittedly, a lot more suited to sunnier days, but that didn't stop me from devouring it allll. I especially appreciated the mini flower wall backdrop for people to get their instagram - how considerate.

6. Somerset House
Strand, London WC2R 1LA

Somerset House is just a short walk away, based on Strand. You have probably seen it before in the background of everyone's London Fashion Week pictures. I am often here taking pictures because the gorgeous architecture and plain walls makes for the perfect outfit backdrops, there are some great toilet facilities to get changed in, and the entire complex is a no-vehicle zone!
There are often events and things to do here, from the wonderful water fountains and E4 Film Screenings during summer, to the ice skating rink, pop up installations and events during other times. Do be careful, the security can be tight and it hasn't always been easy to take snaps. However, on this day, there were lots of outdoor installations so I guess pictures were allowed in conjunction with that.

7. Hardy's Sweetshop
25 New Row, London WC2N 4LA

I didn't plan this stop at all, but I saw Hardy's and immediately knew I had to go inside! This shop is filled with all types of candy and chocolate. From classic oldies like humbugs and fruit salads, to all the American brands even Harry Potter themed sweets. We I treated myself to a couple of chocolate bars and a cheeky pic 'n' mix. I love how bright and colourful this place was, and the gigantic sweets in the window display are giving me all the Alice in Wonderland vibes!

8. Rituals
29 James St, London WC2E 8PA

Last but not least, is this ethereal doorway by Rituals. I must admit, I didn't actually go in the store, I just posed outside of it! But can you blame me? Deffo a quick one to pop onto your list!

I really hope you enjoyed exploring the instagrammable spots of Covent Garden! Let me know if you plan to visit any of these places or if you already have?
