Spa Day and Afternoon Tea at Hilton Ageas Bowl

Spa Day and Afternoon Tea at Hilton Ageas Bowl

Hi Guys,

Whilst in Southampton recently, I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon at Eforea Spa, located within the Hilton Ageas Bowl Hotel. They kindly treated myself and my friend Grace to a spa day afternoon tea.
We were lucky with the gorgeous, sunny weather. We really enjoyed soaking in the rays on the deck of the outside jacuzzi. Unfortunately the facilities themselves were extremely busy and we didn't actually manage to spend much time in the spa area at all or get an pictures, however it all looked wonderful and I would love to re-visit on a quieter day. (For reference, we arrived at approximately 11.30am on a Monday)
Nonetheless, we really enjoyed the wonderful afternoon tea experience and managed to document it so I could share with you.

The Afternoon Tea

The Afternoon Tea is served in the spa kitchen, over-looking the green of the neighbouring golf course, which made for a lovely view.
We requested a pescatarian afternoon tea which was generously catered for. It arrived in all it's three-tier glory; scones topped mini cake bites which topped six savoury rolls.
This is the menu advertised on the website, however, I believe a few changes have been made as our afternoon tea service didn't include many of these items.

Menu
(served 12-5pm)

Warm Irish buttermilk scones served with clotted cream and homemade jam

A variety of freshly made sandwiches:
Cucumber and Hummus Wiltshire ham and plum tomato Poached salmon, new potato and watercress Chefs savoury of the day

A selection of sweet treats including:
Lemon meringue tart Chocolate and toffee éclair Compressed strawberries with gin & whipped cream Poppy seed cake Served

with a selection of tea or coffee

Our tea experience included three savoury rolls; egg mayo, cheese and onion and tuna mayo. The cake selection was a mini carrot cake, Victoria sponge and puff cone filled with cream. Of course, classically accompanied by two raisin and two butter scones with clotted cream and jam.
I was extremely impressed with the scones which melted in my mouth. They were probably one of the best scones I've ever had! I also particularly enjoyed the carrot cake bite and the mini Victoria sponge cake.

A huge thank you to Hilton Ageas Bowl and the Eforea Spa for hosting us.
