The Bath Priory 5* Hotel and Spa

The Bath Priory 5* Hotel and Spa

If the last year has taught me anything, it is that self-care is EVERYTHING!
With that in mind, I booked a 5* Spa Hotel in the UK spa capital - Bath! The clue is in the name. We had the most wonderful experience at Bath Priory Hotel. In this post, I will show you around, tell you how much it cost and how you can experience this for yourselves!
Let's start at the very beginning...
Bath Spa is a 1 hour and 20 minute train journey from Paddington station in the heart of London. The whole city was built with Wellness in mind, when 2,000 years ago, the Romans had the bright idea to utilise the thermal water erupting from the ground (there is evidence that there was human activity around the Springs even earlier, although it was probably too hot for human settlement!)
The Bath Priory Hotel takes the concepts of rest, relaxation, revitalisation and the "Spa Experience" and combines with a dash of Regency era (particularly suitable for the city famous for Jane Austen and Bridgerton filming) and contemporary luxury. From their grand, homely bedrooms, to the award-winning restaurant and L'Occitane Garden Spa, this hotel is the true epitome of opulence and leisure.
Our Room
The Magnolia room was kindly provided to us as a complimentary upgrade on a quiet weekend. The best surprise! This "premiere deluxe" room is situated at the rear of the property, overlooking the idyllic garden.
"Premier Deluxe Rooms offer stunning views of the gardens, some feature private balconies whilst others offer romantic roll top baths. Each room comes with a king size bed.
Homemade biscuits and mineral water greet you in your room. L’Occitane skin care and bath lotions along with slippers and fluffy robes and a Vispring bed complete your stay."

My favourite moment from the trip was when we got back to our room, following our spa treatments, with a little time to kill before our dinner plans. We sat on this sofa, in our spa robes, poured ourselves glasses of rosé prosecco, ordered truffle fries to the room and stuck Harry Potter on the TV! It was absolute bliss!

The L'Occitane Garden Spa

I didn't capture any images in the spa itself, but I did manage to get a few videos when we were alone (which you can find on my Instagram page and TikTok). The L'Occitane Garden Spa was one of the best experiences I've ever had - and that is not an exaggeration! We enjoyed 2 hours of pool time (which is now scheduled due to Covid and distancing - I loved this as it meant it was extremely quiet!) We swam, we steamed, we sauna'd and we showered. It was very relaxing. We even managed to spend some time in the flower gardens to relax and chat, before heading to our treatment room...
We were staying with a Garden Spa retreat package, which meant 60-minute treatments, our room for 1-night and breakfast in the morning were all included! My friend chose to have a facial, whilst I chose the discovery back massage and facial (the perfect treatment for any indecisive people as you get a bit of both!) The treatment room was dark and tranquil, with relaxing music playing. My therapist talked me through my desires from the treatment, before inviting me onto the massage table to begin...
It. Was. THE BEST. Massage. Of. My. Life
I cannot recommend this spa more. Even if you don't stay at the hotel, the Garden Spa is a must!

We paid £250 each for everything included in this package. It is also worth noting that we were expecting to stay in a "deluxe" room but were kindly upgraded when we arrived.

I hope you enjoyed this review! Thank you if you got this far. I'd love to know if you book your own trip to the Bath Priory Hotel, so tag me in your pictures!
