The Dixon Hotel, Tower Bridge

When planning a trip to London, or indeed any city, I believe choosing the right location for accommodation is a top priority! The more central, the better, as I love being able to see the sights on foot where possible. The Dixon Hotel in Tower Bridge is the perfect, luxury hotel for anyone planning a London trip. Nestled comfortably between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, this beautiful, grade II-listed building comes with a rich history and an abundance of style.
Occupying an awe-inspiring building that dates from 1905, when it served as the Tower Bridge Magistrates Court, The Dixon is a new hotel that captures all the culture, creativity and variety of SE1, the world’s most cultural postcode! Its award-winning 193 rooms and suites, lounges and restaurant enjoy an edgy, eclectic design aesthetic and a boutique vibe.
Our London staycation began in room 204, where we were greeted with a beautifully contemporary suite, oozing style and pops of deep turquoise. The bathroom was stunning - from the tiles to the unique hexagonal mirror. Embroidered robes are provided, and with my own last name being "Dixon" I couldn't help but feel a little more special than the average guest! The huge walk-in shower was also a massive bonus, which made up for the lack of bathtub.
The rest of the hotel is also extremely photogenic, from the historical Courtroom Bar (which has kept the original design and layout of the old magistrates courtroom- including a marble-clad sunken bar beneath the judge's original oak canopy) to the stylish Provisioners Cafe, which serves the local residents as well as hotel guests. You can choose to have your morning's breakfast in the Provisioners Cafe, or do as we did and take it up to your room.
Breakfast is a delightful spread of hot, cold, sweet and savoury food - and everything in between! From pastries, cheese and meats, fruits and toast, sausages, eggs, yoghurts, hash browns, bacon and loads more! Every guest will find something they fancy to start the day right!
As we booked with a gift voucher, we had a bottle of prosecco and late check-out included with our stay. This meant savouring our breakfast in bed and not needing to pack our bags until the morning! You can choose to have your bottle of prosecco in the room or in the Courtroom Bar, which I thought was a lovely option.

Not only is The Dixon the beautiful, welcoming place to spend your London nights, but it is also a stone's throw away from many London Landmarks. Here are a few:
The Shard
Borough Market
Tower Bridge
Tate Modern
London Eye
Butlers Wharf
Tower of London
